He is very excited to direct his first family sitcom in the Kapuso Network, “It’s a viewing that you don’t have to be worried about and where families can be able to relate to the show’s characters. It’s a very typical Filipino family [which looks at the] lighter side of things, a new perspective on typical Filipino life.“

Director Dominic adds that Ismol Family is very relatable to families, “It’s very wholesome. The comedy is very now. It’s both a comedy and a drama [because it is very heartwarming]. A lot of things here are very relatable. Every episode [has a lesson which will be shown in a way that isn’t typical]. [We packaged the lessons through a heartwarming comedy], with a  family that you could all relate to, and that you could love and think [of] as your own.”

Meanwhile, Director Dominic shares that he is very happy to be working again with Ryan and Carla after My Husband’s Lover. He says that the viewers will witness the different sides of these artists in Ismol Family where they will showcase their talent in comedy.

“I’m glad [to have worked with] Ryan and Carla. We are very familiar with each other. They are very seasoned actors. They could go the full spectrum from doing really heavy drama to doing something very light, even comedy. [Carla is very different here]. You’ll see the bubblier side of Carla. And I think it helps [that] Ryan understands the dynamics of husband and wife.”

Adding to its recent string of victories in international competitions, GMA Network gained eight recognitions in the 2014 US International Film and Video Festival (USIFVF) based in Los Angeles, California.

GMA’s latest win consists of two Gold Camera and five Silver Screen awards for its News and Public Affairs shows, and a Certificate of Creative Excellence for one of its Entertainment programs.

Taking home golds (first place) are GMA News TV shows in the Documentary production category, namely Wagas: Mga Kuwento ng Totoong Pag-Ibig, for Docudrama programs; and Brigada, for Social Issues programs.

Wagas has also been included in the shortlist of documentaries nominated for the Best of Festival (Grand Prix) Award, reserved only for the most outstanding Gold Camera recipients. Winners will be announced on June 16.

Brigada’s “Gintong Krudo” episode, meanwhile, exposed the hazards faced by impoverished children at the Navotas Fish Port, who swim in filthy waters to collect spilled crude oil.

The same episode also won the Silver World Medal in the 2014 New York Festival, where GMA bagged one gold, two more silvers, and three bronze world medals.

Earning one of five Silver Screen awards (second place) for the network was GMA News TV’s primetime newscast, State of the Nation with Jessica Soho, in the TV News category for Continuing News Stories.

The newscast was cited for its coverage of Super Typhoon Yolanda (international code name: Haiyan) last November. It was also part of GMA News and Public Affairs’ gold medal triumph at the George Foster Peabody Awards, considered the equivalent of the Pulitzer Prize for electronic media.

This is the third consecutive year that State of the Nation was recognized by the USIFVF. Last year, it won the Silver Screen Award for “The Wrath of the Monsoon,” its coverage of the disastrous habagat rains that swamped Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

In 2012, State of the Nation received a Certificate for Creative Excellence (third place) for its episode on the aftermath of Typhoon Sendong (international code name: Washi).

Ryan AgoncilloSundays with the whole family will be more fun and exciting as GMA Network presents its newest game show – PICTURE! PICTURE! The program premieres December 8 on GMA’s flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV.

This one-hour game show will be hosted by returning Kapuso, ace TV host and celebrity dad Ryan Agoncillo. Ryan has certainly proved his calibre in hosting various programs over the years; and as he tries his hand at being the game master of Picture! Picture, he will surely amuse, charm and conquer the hearts of Filipino families locally and abroad.

Picture! Picture! will show viewers how photos can be emotionally engaging, eliciting wide range of emotions. The experience is made more fun as four contestants play as a team and take their chance to win as much as half a million pesos by correctly answering 10 picture-aided-questions with only 30 seconds to come up with an answer.

After a set of three questions, the team must eliminate one member. The first person to buzz in and give the correct answer will have the power to kick out a player. In answering a kick out question, the player’s first answer will be considered his/her last answer.

Making Picture! Picture! extra thrilling is the “Back Ups” option which will help the team survive the game. First is Twin Picks where the team is allowed to choose two answers from the three choices. They can use this only once anytime during the game except in the last question. The Save Pic, on the other hand, is the team’s extra life. If they give the wrong answer, they will be automatically saved and will be allowed to continue playing.

The game is over when the remaining players either make a mistake or reach the final question. For the jackpot question, the player must give his/her answers to the five pictures shown within the 60 seconds time limit. If the game ends and there’s still time, a new team will play.

Picture! Picture!’s interactive and unique elements that are culturally relevant across all ages and gender make it more fun, relatable and educational for viewers to watch.
