In April, GWI participated in the biggest gathering of entertainment industry professionals, the MipTV Market Exhibit in Cannes, France. Here, top television execs and creative talents from 100 countries had the chance to preview some of the Network’s latest programs for international licensing; among them Carmela, The Borrowed Wife, Rhodora X, Innamorata, Kambal Sirena, Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw and Magkano Ba Ang Pag-ibig.

Jocelyn Go, GWI Assistant Vice President for Sales and Marketing, noted on the positive response for Kapuso programs, “Buyers and other TV groups predominantly radiate positive and enthusiastic reactions when presented with GMA programs. This is an acknowledgment of the high standard and improving quality of our products.”

“Equally significant are the great relationships we have built with the other companies who attend these markets with us because their positive opinions are a reflection of GWI’s reputation and standing with our international partners,” she added.

Aside from MipTV, GWI also hosted a booth at the NATPE conference in Miami, Florida. Titles that were highlighted include Katipunan, Titser, The Politician (Bayan Ko), and Love Sonata.

GWI likewise established a strong presence at DISCOP West Asia in Istanbul, Turkey, and at Hong Kong Filmart, the largest content exhibit in Asia. My Husband’s Lover, Rhodora X, Carmela, The Borrowed Wife, among others, were warmly received by buyers in both conferences.

In the first quarter alone, GWI sold over 1,000 hours of programs and movies for airing in Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, South Korea and the US.

With GMA’s proven ability to create globally competitive content, GWI is gearing up to explore new territories and expand GMA’s growing international audience in the months to come.

GMA Pinoy TV welcomes the new year with a fresh lineup of programs that are sure to excite Filipino audiences overseas.

A story of love and obsession will be brought to international television screens this January 21 with the premiere of The Borrowed Wife starring Camille Prats, TJ Trinidad, Rafael Rosell and Pauleen Luna. Focusing on the question, “Is there reason enough for a spouse to become someone else’s lover?” the series takes viewers into the lives of four characters bound together by a secret that will set them onto an interconnected path towards love and redemption.

On January 28, three more shows will be launched on GMA’s flagship international channel. The first of these will see Primetime Queen Marian Rivera paired for the very first time with GMA Artist Center’s prime leading man Alden Richards in the new and absorbing drama series, Carmela. The story will see its title character forced to make heart-wrenching decisions as she struggles with being judged because of her beauty and with a love that can never be.

GMA Pinoy TV subscribers will also see a compelling new drama that will challenge viewers to discover the nuances of personal relationships and encourage them to examine how deeply they know their loved ones. Jennylyn Mercado, Yasmien Kurdi, Mark Herras, and Mark Anthony Fernandez star in this new series entitled Rhodora X, which will also premiere on January 28.

Rounding out this year’s January lineup is Paraiso Ko’y Ikaw, a beautiful tale of true love that defies all odds. The series, which features sought-after Kapuso teen stars Kristoffer Martin and Kim Rodriguez and introducing Phytos Ramirez, will begin airing on January 28.

This February 18, Max Collins and Luis Alandy will engage viewers in Innamorata, an intriguing story of the dangers of losing one’s self in wanting someone or something so much.

Furthermore, GMA Pinoy TV continues to bring even more fun, laughter and entertainment to Pinoys abroad with the latest episodes of the comedy game show Celebrity Bluff hosted by the award-winning comedienne/actress Eugene Domingo with Jose Manalo, GMA’s original creation Picture! Picture! with Ryan Agoncillo as game master, the musical variety show Sunday All Stars, the longest-running showbiz-oriented talk show Startalk, and the first ever reality-sitcom Pepito Manaloto, an original concept from award-winning comedian/actor Michael V.
