Since 2005, MEL AND JOEY has celebrated most of its anniversaries with special presentations shot from abroad. These out-of-the-country episodes have proven to be quite special and have consistently topped rival television programs over the years. This year, for its 6th anniversary celebration, hosts Mel Tiangco and Joey de Leon once again hit the road, this time going Down Under to Australia and Kiwi country New Zealand!
First stop: Sydney, Australia! Join the dynamic duo as they tour The City of Emeralds and marvel at its world-famous landmarks: the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbor Bridge, and Bondi Beach. Up next is Melbourne, where Mel and Joey will hang out at Melbourne Central, Ripponlea and Gardens, Como House, Yarra River, and the Old Melbourne Gaol.
While in Sydney, Mel and Joey had the chance to chat with their fans through a Meet and Greet hosted by UBI World TV on October 20, in partnership with GMA Pinoy TV. It was indeed a rare opportunity for MEL AND JOEY Pinoy fans in Australia to spend an evening with their idols in Dunkirk Hotel, Pyrmont, Sydney.
After a remarkable time in The Land Down Under, the partners then head off to New Zealand! MEL AND JOEY visits the country’s main urban centers – Auckland and Wellington – to take a peek at the cities’ famous sights – Mount Victoria Peak, the Beehive Building, the Wellington Government Building, and the Wellington Red Cable Car. Other historic places featured in the show include Te Papa Museum which highlights the Maori traditions. Plus, MEL AND JOEY gets to visit some of the places where the epic trilogy The Lord of the Rings was filmed!
And if that’s not exciting enough, MEL AND JOEY also shares the success stories of fellow Filipinos who made it big in Australia and New Zealand.
MEL AND JOEY’s 6th anniversary celebration is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure ride that one should not miss! Watch out for it only on GMA Pinoy TV. Call your preferred pay TV operator now to subscribe.
